about
Jesus Way Homeless Shelter was established in 2000 by Pastor Larry and Patricia Doughty, with a humble mission to assist individuals in the community with whatever resources they could provide. Over the years, the shelter has expanded its services to include a dedicated division for women with children, a men's shelter, and a transitional home for single families.
In addition to providing shelter, our Christian Homeless Shelter operates various ministries aimed at supporting families in need. One such ministry is the after-school care program, which offers assistance to students from kindergarten to twelfth grade. This program ensures that children have a safe and nurturing environment to study and engage in educational activities after school hours.
Jesus Way also organizes regular grocery giveaways, where essential food items are distributed to community members free of charge. These initiatives aim to alleviate the financial burden faced by families struggling to put food on the table. Furthermore, the shelter conducts clothing drives throughout the year, providing individuals and families with much-needed clothing items at no cost.
Recognizing the importance of connecting individuals with additional resources, we offer access and referrals to various support services. These resources may include healthcare facilities, job training programs, counseling services, and other community organizations that can assist individuals in their journey toward stability and self-sufficiency.
Overall, we are committed to providing a comprehensive range of services to those experiencing homelessness and financial hardship. Through their various ministries and partnerships, they strive to uplift individuals and families, offering them hope, support, and a pathway toward a brighter future.
